COVENTRY CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS PRESCHOOL

Celebrating Over 35 Years of Preschool Experience

Our preschool provides a nurturing environment to prepare your child for a successful future of academic growth.

When we start by trying to create the best memories for each child, we create a

child-centered rather than an

organization-centered environment.

Overview

We offer year-round care in a nurturing, Christian environment. Our academic program is offered 5 mornings a week from 9:00 AM- 11:45 AM with extended care hours available from 7:00 AM- 6:00 PM.

Children do NOT need to be potty trained before enrolling. We will work with parents to achieve this goal!

Our Classes

Infants & Toddlers

Nursery, Toddler Room

Starting at 6 weeks old

Our infants and toddlers program helps to support our children in each phase of development. Our goals are to develop physical awareness, promote language development, and encourage social and emotional growth.

We do this through simple phrases, story time, rhymes, puzzles, coloring, dancing, and playing with others.

Our preschool program further develops students as they grow and mature. Preschoolers will recognize colors, letters and patterns, and we teach fine motor skills by forming play dough, drawing shapes, stringing beads and using scissors.

Students are taught gross-motor skills through playing ball, jumping, walking forward and backward on a balance beam, and climbing on ladders and stairs. We encourage group participation as we teach students to verbalize their feelings and to take turns.

Pre-Kindergarten

Pre-Kindergarten classrooms

4 and 5 year-olds

Our pre-kindergarten prepares students for a kindergarten setting. We encourage reading readiness through identifying letters, sounds, rhyming words and speaking in full sentences. We also teach basic math terms, shapes and the value of numbers.

Kindergarten skills are introduced such as printing first and last name, reproducing basic shapes, recognizing colors and managing their own clothing (buttons, zippers, etc.). Students grow socially and emotionally through sharing, treating others with respect, and displaying self-control and confidence.
